It does not matter whether your email service is ran in-house with programs like Microsoft Exchange® or if you outsource your email to another provider. DW Archive integrates seamlessly simply by making a few changes to your DNS.

By changing the DNS entry for your incoming email, called the MX Record, all email will be routed through the DW Alliance system.

Then if you would like all outbound email archived, you setup a CNAME Record for your 'outgoing' smtp server.
